Adolescent Suicide Assessment Protocol – 20 (ASAP-20)

Youth suicide is the third leading cause of death, behind accidents and homicide, among young people from 15-24 years old (National Center for Health Statistics, 2000). There is an assessment protocol for use by mental health intake workers, hotline workers, school counselors, and other gatekeepers who interact with adolescents who may be in the suicide zone of risk.
